Scottish business owner named in top 100 young entrepreneurs (25th November)
October 2009Joe Frankel, who founded Vegware in 2006, became a winner of the 2009 Future 100 Award at a ceremony last week held in Kings Cross, London. The 33-year-old now joins a list of 99 other Future 100 entrepreneurs. Read more... British retailers sending "a third less waste to landfill" (16th November) The proportion of waste sent to landfill by British Retailing Consortium members has been reduced by around a third between 2005 and 2008. This has been achieved through a range of initiatives such as higher recycling rates and converting organic waste to biogas and fertiliser through anaerobic digestion. Recycle your workplace Christmas cards this Christmas - for free! (25th December)
November 2008Did you know that the Woodland Trust's Christmas Card recycling scheme can be used by both businesses and staff? The scheme, which helped recycle 73.8 million cards in 2008, is supported by Tesco, WHSmith, TK Maxx and Marks and Spencer. All you need to do is take the cards from your workplace to your local participating store who will then process them for recycling.
