Can Do Recycling Provide Recycling Solution To City Centre Businesses

Can Do Recycling launched a new recycling service for the Glasgow business community in March 2007. The service focused on Small to Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) located in and around Glasgow city centre. The new collection service was promoted over a six month period and aimed to recruit 200 new SMEs from the area.

Can Do Recycling offered to collect paper, confidential paper, cardboard, plastic bottles and cans from local businesses on a daily, weekly or monthly basis, tailoring the service to meet the customers' needs.

In addition electronic equipment, fluorescent tubes and office furniture could also be collected on an ad hoc basis.

Businesses signing up for the service received free reusable bags and were able to purchase a range of accessories including office recycling boxes, desk top trays for paper and cages to store full bags or cardboard bundles.

The project is funded by WRAP (Waste & Resources Action Programme) and supported by Waste Aware Business. SMEs participating in the service were able to download posters and other useful resources from the Waste Aware Business website.
