Can Do Provide Recycling Solution for Glasgow Surveyors"Recycling at work makes good business sense." That's the message from Ryden's Glasgow office who recently started recycling with Can Do Recycling.Property consultants Ryden now regularly recycle their paper, cardboard, plastic bottles and cans through Can Do Recycling. The business has up to ten bags of recyclable materials ready for collection on a weekly basis. Office Administrator of Ryden Glasgow, Doreen Elliott, said: "The weekly collection service is very good, as space for storing bags is at a premium in our office. Can Do provides an efficient and reliable service, making it easy to recycle at work." The service focuses on Small to Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) located in and around Glasgow city centre, offering paper, confidential paper, cardboard, plastic bottle and can collections from local businesses on a daily, weekly or monthly basis. In addition electronic equipment, fluorescent tubes and office furniture can also be collected on an ad hoc basis. The trial is funded by WRAP (Waste & Resources Action Programme) and is supported by Waste Aware Business, a national campaign that aims to raise awareness of business waste issues and provide information about landfill alternatives. Scotland's businesses currently produce around nine million tonnes of waste every year, compared to three million tonnes of household waste. By participating in this new scheme, local businesses can reduce the amount of waste sent to landfill sites and make significant cost savings as landfill tax continues to rise. Doreen Elliott, said: "Ryden has implemented environmentally friendly measures across the whole firm and is working with local recycling specialists such as Can Do Recycling to help us meet our targets and reduce our landfill waste." Jim Sinclair, from Can Do Recycling, said: "Recycling at work makes good business sense. All businesses in Scotland must now pre-treat their waste as part of the Landfill (Scotland) 2003 regulations. We have designed our recycling service to meet the needs of individual businesses and help them comply with the new regulations while saving both money and the environment by recycling, as we say 'You Can Do it too'."
